About

Hello and thanks for stopping by. Out of the millions of blogs on the internet you just happened to come across mine!  We are destined to be connected.    I am a fledgling travel writer and travel is my obsession. I love delving into subjects such as travel philosophies, why we travel, how we travel and where we travel.  I love my home base of San Francisco but I am eager to see what is out there in the world.  I plan to do some solo travel to Central America in January 2018 and will be posting prep for my journey and musings on solo travel. I will also be delving into the internal journey of travel or soul travel as I like to call it.
Below is a bit on my personal philosophy. These themes and beliefs will be weaving in and out of my writing and blog posts so I thought I’d give you a peek inside my brain.

I believe in the transformative power of travel to shift a person’s learned values and shake their preconceived notions on life, love, relationships, politics, education, religion, money, food, work and happiness. Taking the road less traveled–and getting lost in a foreign country, hanging out in the town square and talking to the locals, volunteering while abroad, eating strange food and fumbling through a new language is better than any education you can get in a classroom.

I believe that Gratitude is the gateway to an authentic and joyful existence. No matter where you are from or what your circumstances are, there is always a place for Gratitude. As Deepak Chopra says, Gratitude opens the door to the power, the wisdom, the creativity of the universe. You open the door through gratitude.

I believe in solitude and practicing the art of silence and meditation. This allows the body, mind and soul time to melt into each other in harmony so the seeds of creativity can manifest and grow into something magical.

I believe one of life’s most fulfilling pleasures is to take a journey between the pages of a book. It has been said that someone who reads can live a thousand lives, traverse many lands and planets, jump ahead or venture back in time. There are no boundaries in books.

I believe that true happiness is found in loving one’s self unconditionally. Love yourself first and although not too many people admit it….being single is not the worst thing in the world. It is possible to be single and happy.

I believe that you have to risk failure, falling down, looking or sounding stupid, in order to succeed. Fear is one of the most limiting and damaging of emotions. On the other side of fear is freedom!

I believe in the Power of One to make a change.

How do you like your steak? (a little tribute to Anthony Bourdain’s love of meat)

“I don’t have much patience for people who are self-conscious about the act of eating, and it irritates me when someone denies themselves the pleasure of a bloody hunk of steak or a pungent French cheese because of some outdated nonsense about what’s appropriate or attractive.” -Anthony Bourdain If you have read any of my … Continue reading How do you like your steak?
